OHSU Center for Health
and Healing

Portland, Oregon
Placemaking, Wayfinding, Donor Recognition

OHSU’s Center for Health & Healing hums with activity. Ten floors of medical offices, four floors of research labs, a pharmacy and optical shop combine with a wellness facility used both by patients and the community. Plus, it’s the lower terminus of the tram to OHSU, giving it the feel of a transportation hub. Our 8.5′ directional totems provide visibility high above all the lobby activity. Elsewhere we developed custom fused glass disks as a wayfinding device distinguishing centralized waiting areas on each floor. Throughout, inspiration was drawn from the river and the surrounding South Waterfront neighborhood.
