Placemaking, Wayfinding

Letterforms creating semi-abstract patterns of color highlight a remodel to the Stevenson Union in Ashland, Oregon. The graphic glass panels slide open to reveal interior servery areas or close to create a backdrop for more formal events and dances. Created when oversize digitally-printed vinyl was still in its infancy, it took careful attention to assure both letters and layouts lined up whether the doors were open or closed. Digitally-printed microphotographs add color and liveliness to serving station end-caps. A combination of black laminate and chalkboard provide for both permanent and changeable food offerings on the menu board.
