Bothell, Washington
Wayfinding

Perched on a wooded hillside with views toward the Cascade Mountains, Discovery Hall on the UW Bothell campus has nine different entry points with four levels connecting to grade, a format that made visitor orientation and wayfinding a major focus for the AK Team.

In support of the building theme “Science on Display,” bold numerals, color-coded floor levels and maps with clear messaging illustrate how “wayfinding science” can help students and visitors find their way to classrooms, laboratories and flexible learning spaces throughout the building.
